Unfortunately we have very little information on this piece of Nellie’s work.
The only thing we know is that Nellie carved a settle for Mrs Griffith of Albury, N.S.W. in 1903.
The reason we know this is that there is a photograph of it in Nellie’s photo book which we have scanned.  We cannot find any other mention of Mrs. Griffith. This piece is also mentioned in Russell Atkinson’s book “Ellen Nora Payne – Woodcarver of Tasmania.
