“The retirement of Canon Shoobridge from Holy Trinity church after thirty-five years as rector, gave her an opportunity to display once more her skill as a worker in leather.  The parish had decided to present him with an ornamental address, and Mrs Payne fashioned a striking cover for the parchment, which bore several hundred signatures.”
