Nellie carved a pair of these for her nephew Thomas Field’s wedding in 1922.  Thomas lived at Westfield, Westbury.

WEDDING BELLS FIELD— RITCHIE  

The marriage of Mr Thomas Ayton Field, elder son of Mr and Mrs R. C. Field, Westfield, Westbury with Miss. Jean Margaret Ritchie, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Keith Ritchie, Elphin Road, was very quietly celebrated on Wednesday night December 14 at 10.30 p.m.at St. John’s Church by the Rev. W. Bethune.

The bride wore a lovely frock of gold brocaded ivory tinted ninon over satin chartreuse, a wide swathe of ninon draping the waist, and finishing with gold tassels, falling below the skirt at one side, and her large black cellophane picture hat was finished with streamers of black cere ribbon and pink roses, falling on the shoulder.

A strong element of romance entered into this wedding ceremony, in that the young couple had just motored straight from the marriage of the bridegroom’s sister at Westbury, and the only witnesses at the ceremony were the newly wedded Mr and Mrs Lance Thomas, who accompanied them.

After the ceremony the two newly married pairs motored to the residence of Mr and Mrs Keith Ritchie where a champagne supper was partaken of and later both couples left en route to different destinations on the East Coast for their honeymoon.
